Street and
Community Outreach
Staff and
volunteers distribute safer sex kits which contain condoms and HIV
and STD information. Venues for outreach activities include:
liquor stores, universities, shopping malls, beauty and barber
shops, night clubs, house parties and other special events.
Counseling and
Testing
Confidential and
anonymous HIV testing utilizing the OraSure oral test method is
available free of charge. Tests are performed in BUB offices by
appointment or walk in. BUB staff can also schedule a home visit
to perform a test.
Education
BUB can provide
on-site HIV/AIDS education. Through formal partnerships with
faith and community based organizations and social service
providers BUB provided HIV education and information to 450 people
in 2004.
Comprehensive Risk Counseling and Services (CRCS) The Prevention Connection: Comprehensive HIV Prevention for Men
The Prevention Connection is an intensive individualized client-centered prevention program for men who are HIV positive or negative, and have substance abuse issues that put them at high risk for HIV infection.
